What to Expect After Dental Filling Treatment
Are you about to repair a tooth with a dental filling in Foothill Ranch, California? If so, good for you! You’re on your way toward a strong and healthy tooth once again. The treatment should be simple and fast. When you’re done, you might feel a little numb in the mouth. This is completely normal. To help you know what to expect after dental filling treatment, our dentist. Dr. Aria Irvani, is happy to give you some details.
After the anesthesia wears off, there is a good chance your tooth will be sensitive. In fact, it will likely be sensitive to pressure, cold air, liquids, or sweet foods. The sensitivity should last for one to two weeks, but it won’t last forever. To keep the pain and discomfort at bay, it’s best to try avoiding anything that causes the sensitivity. If your tooth is extremely sensitive or if it doesn’t disappear after two weeks, please contact your dentist.
You might also feel a little bit of tingling, numbness, and pain in the injection site when the anesthesia wears off. These feelings should only last a couple hours, and you’ll feel back to normal in no time.
